Les Heretique $14.00
A lovely bright summer red wine. Les Hérétiques comes from the south of France and is unoaked and full of ripe dark berry flavors. Made with partial carbonic maceration to give it juicy freshness. The tannins are well-balanced and the finish lingers nicely. Made for a cook-out or late night pizza.
Pieza El Coll $15.00
Fun blend from the North of Spain and a great jump in quality this year. The nose shows cranberry, leather, black licorice, and sweet smoke. Flavors of spicy bramble and more cigar and leather on the palate. A fun sturdy wine for BBQ or burgers.
Tessellae $15.00
Grenache, Syrah and Mouvedre take most of the shine in southern France. But this carignan from Languedoc carves out its own spot, rightfully so. Rich dark fruits with a background of floral, spice and minerality. Round, smooth tannins and oh so easy to drink.
Domaine Lafond Tavel $16.00
This richly colored Rose from Tavel opens with a mild wet stone and gentle strawberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is light to medium bodied, balanced, and savory. The flavor profile is a mineral infused strawberry and gentle red raspberry blend with a hint of white pepper. The finish is dry and nicely refreshing. I would pair this very nice Rose with grilled salmon this summer.
5 Finques $19.00
D.O. Emporda lies right along the border of Spain and France. It's no wonder why you'll find all the Bordeaux and Rhone varietals together in this Spanish wine. Ripe black fruits, anise and clove flood from the glass. Grippy tannins beg for food with this wine. A good amount of acid making this a well balanced bottle of juice.
Portal $20.00
Are you a fan of red blends? Oh yeah? What kinds? This will take some of the guess work out for you. Garnacha, Carignan, Tempranillo, merlot and Syrah all play very well together in this delicious Spanish blend. Stewed cherry and strawberry, baking spice with lovely structure. Now you can be more specific when you say you like blends.
Gotes del Priorat $24.00
A slightly different and wonderful lighter take on Priorat. The gorgeous blue slate show immediately on the nose, Carignan is there but with richness and elegance. Really pretty and an homage to the fruit. Gorgeous leather and blue black fruit flavors with spice and soft leather. Organic, hand picked and just 9 months in French, this really is a lovely wine!
Broc Carignan $28.00
From 130+ yr old vines, and on original rootstock comes this remarkable Carignan. All native yeasts, no SO2 used during production means pure bright flavors of tart cherry, blueberry and unmistakeable juicy tang from carbonic maceration. Why spend $34 on wine.com?
Domaine Raspail-Ay Gigondas $36.00
One of the best value regions of serious Southern Rhone reds. A Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre blend with all black fruits, spice, herbs and a silky smooth finish. Heavy but packed with finesse and flavor. Great for grilling beef or pork. Just lovely.
