Squadra $13.00
Imagine yourself lying on a beach in Sicily. Toes in the sand, gazing upon crystal blue waters. This is what you would have in your glass. Beautiful bouquet of rose petals, delicate red fruits and a salinity like smelling the ocean breeze. 100% Nero d'Avola, take a vacation without packing your suitcase.
Baglio delle Fate $13.00
A native grape of Sicily, this 100% Nero d'Avola is a great deal! Brambly red, blue and black fruits, savory dried herbs and earth. Full body, juicy, smooth tannins!
Calabretta Gaio Gaio Rosso $18.00
Earthy and delicious Sicilian red farmed naturally on the steep sides of Mt Etna. These are the younger vines and the wine spends less than a year in oak. But it packs a punch with red cherry, blueberry and earthy charm.
Riofavara Spaccaforno Eloro Nero $19.00
Soft nose of blackberry, tobacco, spice and volcanic earth with a little hint of Kirsch as well. Explosive cherry flavor with a nice structure to finish. Really fun. I know there are cheaper ones out there, but this is the liveliest, and a delicious expression of the grape. Just enhanced with a few months in 2nd pass French oak.
Gurrieri Frappato $30.00
A red big enough to have with food, but light enough to be dubbed "a summer red." From the hot climate of Sicily, this frappato does not show those overly jammy characteristics of hot climates. Fresh red raspberry and black cherry, hints of roses and a touch of white pepper. Enough acid to refresh the palate so you can spend your day on the patio.
Passorosso $32.00
Grown on the volcanic slopes of Mt. Etna, this Nerello Mascalese is brimming with concentrated black fruits, violets, herbs and spices. Big tannin balanced by healthy acidity. Natural fermentation using indigenous yeasts and grapes from a single vineyard. A definite food wine, pair with lamb or pork roast.
